Who am I?

.

.
The bridge stands high on the water below
The two paths i am free to go,
One through the mysteries of Life downstream---
The other straight to Dreamlands flow.

With two fireflies blazing the lonely trail,
Like Royal Sentries in a funeral pail,
I braved the Rain and the Darkness' pain--
Never to reach. Anywhere Again..

I climbed and climbed and climbed that night,
Through unknown terrains with the two dots of light,
All the night they did fight and love,Love and Fight,
Until they were dissolved in the morning Light.

Its said that the route i took that Night,
Passes through the Gates Of Eternal Strife,
Whereby an old guard as old as Time,
Asks for The most precious possession of your Life.

I dread to think what i left that night,
Forever at the Gates of Eternal Strife,
A gush of winds knocked me over and i saw...
Without Shadows ....i stood in the morning Light.

Still when i think in moments Alone,
Which road i took on that fateful Night,
I can hear from the valleys down there,
Below the bridge and besides the River,
Someone crying in a voice thats mine..
Asking me again,"Who Am I ?"

I enjoyed the pictures you chose to illustrate each verse of this somewhat mysterious poem.

It rather leaves one hanging, but I did so enjoy your picture header. The road...it calls, doesn't it.
